Changes to IRS Withholding Tables and Form W-4

The IRS has recently updated the tax withholding tables due to changes in 2018 income tax rates.

Employees should have started seeing withholding changes beginning with their February paychecks.

The IRS has recently issued an updated Form W-4 (link below). Employers should encourage their employees to fill out a new Form W-4 now, especially if their employees owed taxes or had large refunds when filing their 2017 tax returns.

Employers should also encourage their employees to use the IRS withholding calculator (link below) to determine if they should give you a new Form W-4 for 2018. Finally, employers should review the IRS Withholding FAQs (link below) for additional resources.
