J. Patrick Deming , CPA , Partner
Pat provides specialized audit and accounting services and oversees many of the firm’s client engagements. He focuses his practice on serving manufacturing, transportation, media distribution, insurance and forest products entities.
In addition to client service responsibilities, Pat serves as a member of the Kernutt Stokes Audit and Accounting Steering Committee, which is charged with overseeing the audit and accounting practice within the firm. As part of his responsibilities, Pat works with committee members to develop firm guidelines within the audit and accounting practice to ensure quality control standards are met or exceeded, as well as provide meaningful continuing education and technical updates to staff and other members of the firm. Pat also serves on the firm’s marketing committee, which oversees the development of relationships with current and potential clients, as well as the promotion of the firm within our community.
Pat attended Upstream Academy’s leadership program, Emerging Leaders Academy. The skills that he developed over course of the three year program helped in him in his promotion to partner.
Pat grew up in Portland, Oregon and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business Administration from Idaho State University. He began his accounting career at KPMG in Denver, Colorado. Pat then worked at Boise Cascade, where he helped oversee the accounting and financial reporting for one of the company’s large paper mills, before joining Kernutt Stokes in 2008. Pat lives in Junction City with his wife, Heather, and their three children. In his free time he enjoys water skiing, camping, playing guitar, participating in water sports and track and field.
